Post swapping radio/tape units

Just got my 2000 F150 work series truck, Deep wedgewood, 4.2L V6, 5-spd
This is the first FORD I have owned….

I really want to get a cassette tape deck/radio.
It came with OEM radio; a tape deck is not available on the work series.
Question? Will an OEM tape/radio swap with the radio without any changes?
What about aftermarket?
Is the change out something I could do, or do I need to take it a dealer?
Do these pull out from the front panel??

Cool

all trucks should have all of the wiring harneses already in. You should be able to just put a new deck in. you will need a conversion adapter for an aftermarket and an OEM should just plug in. That big trip piece that goes arround the radio and A/C just pops off. insert a screwdriver (wrapped in tape) and genly pry it off. For aftermarket radios the mounting bracket is very easy to install.

Cool

Any factory radio from a 99 and newer F-150 and most Expedition will work. The multimedia from Expedition will require inner dash trimming to clear the larger chassis.

You can always go with aftermarket to save money. To make it easy, get the radio wiring harness to "plug in" to the factory plugs, and you'll have to get a adaptor kit for the radio due to the size of the factory unit.

I'm looking around for a AM/FM with Single CD in dash for my 2000 F250SD. When I find one I can make you a good price on my stock one. It's the AM/FM with Casset like you want.

Email me if you want to discuss it. cphilip@clemson.edu

Looks like that Casset radio will be availble in about two weeks. Anyone need one for a good price? It's a 2000 AM/FM Casset clock radio about two months old. Fits all 99 and 00 F150's, F250's and F350's I think it fits older ones from 97 on as well. Will take $70 plus shipping. I will post this as an add but since it came up already on this thread I thought I would post here the final outcome also. Sorry Steve.
