Cool need help with my install

hi,

i am having trouble trying to find a place to put my amps. i have a 97 f150 reg cab. if i put my subs on the back wall(i've already removed the storage tray), then i have no place to put the amps. i have a soundstream ref 644 and a ref 500 and they will not fit under the seats. i thought about trading my subs (3 jl 8w6's) for the stealthbox in the console, then mounting my amps on the back wall. any ideas?

brian

I'm just finishing up my install with 2 amps and 2 subs all behind the seats of a 97 reg cab. What I did was face the subs to the rear of the cab. Just make sure you sound deaden the entire wall below the window. There is about 2 to 3 inches between the subs and the wall. I then mounted the amps on the other side of the sub enclosure. It was a tight squeeze, but with proper planning it all worked out. I can put my seat back farther than I need to. FYI, I have two JL 10w6's in seperate .625 cuft chambers. I could of gone bigger (had some space to spare) but that's what the JL spec'd.

If you have any more questions, just ask.
Josh

Hey Beer Man !!, lol I'm in the same situation as you right now. I have to rather large amps and an electronic crossover and a 10" sub in a Q logic box. I wanna upgrade to the MTX thunderform with two 10's behind the seat. Only problem is that is where my amps are mounted. Here is what I'm thinking of doing. I have to carry computers and stuff around all day so I'm gonna get a Snuglid and bedrug for the bed then I was gonna move both amps into the bed of the truck which would free up the room behind the seat for the 2 10's. The snuglid is lockable and water tight and I was gonna put an alarm on the truck with a pin for the lid for added protection.

Just an idea I'm kicking around for myself that might help you out.

great idea, but that isn't going to work for me. i have a toolbox and a 12 foot whip antennae for my cb. i have been thinking about trying to mount my amps and crossovers in the headliner. does anyone know if there is any room up there? if i can somehow get them up there, then i'll get rid of my 8w6's and get the thunderform box for the 2 tens and throw some jl 10w3's in there.
