Factory In dash CD skipping
I have only had my F150 for about two weeks, and took the first long trip in it today (350 miles). After the CD had been playing between 1 hr and 1.5 hrs it started skipping on the littlest cracks in a fairly smooth road. I tried four different CD, all skipped.
Anyone else had any problems with the factory in dash single CD player. And if you did, what did you do about it.
Thanks for any input.

None so far, but the longest trip I've been on so far is about 100 miles.

Have a dealership or someone show you how to remove the radio. On the back of the radio is a black rubber peg that sits in a hole in the back of the radio opening. Wrap that peg with some electrical tape so it gets a bit fatter. This will help seat the peg better and it will get rid of your skips.
Sometimes, the peg is a bit small for the hole (or the hole is a bit big for the peg) and the rear of the radio bounces just enough to cause skips.

I had the same problem and it always happened after about an hour and a half of play. I got tired of it and put in a new CD player it works just fine
