i have installed a pair of q-forms in my 97 f-150. the only problem ( big problem) is that i had to heat the parking brake pedal and bend it upwards so they could install properly. the fit and finish on this product is poor.( i have since taken them out) although they do provide a better soundstage than stock door locations, these kick-panels are not sealed at the back so lower mid-bass suffers a great deal!!! you can modify them yourself though with fiberglass to get them sealed - and much better performance!!! - but to me thats to much trouble. also - they do not fit snug with the running boards and the screws on the passenger side will show from the drivers angle. these are the same with the q-forms in the ford expedition and navigator which also uses the same model kick panel. ( i used to be an installer) so i am very familiar with this particular application.

Soon to be 4:10 gears , Vortech supercharger and lightning rims ( if they can ever be available!)

C U L8R~
hey, much thanks for the info. they have come out with a 2nd generation, but they still sound like they're more trouble than they're worth!!! thanks again . . .

I just went to Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas and saw the Q forms. The rep didn't tell me about a 2nd generation. But he was busy talking about the new Q-view overhead console TV.

I'm considering being an Image Dynamics dealer and installing compression drivers (horns) underneath the dash. This I heard personally has great imaging and looks pretty easy to install.

I use the Q-Forms myself to satisfactory results I might add. The big difference though is in the type of drivers I use. The Dynaudios come with sealed midranges and tweeters so the fact that these kickpanel pods aren't sealed isn't a problem. I am currently switching to the higher end MD130 tweeters which now presents me with a problem. The units, including the steel mounting plate is around 3-4 inches which means I need to get rid of the Q-Forms and fabricate my own custom pods.

Btw, to solve the problem of not being able to use the parking brake, my dealer simply installed washers/spacers...a much more elegant mod than having to bend the parking brake.

Feel free to e-mail me if you want to discuss this in greater detail, although I check these boards every so often.

CUL8R,

Glad to see you're using the 340s too. I put the woofers in the door panels, where the original front speakers were located. It should fit, no problem. Don't forget to dynamat the door...
