Post removing radio cover

Can someone tell me the easiest way to remove the piece that covers the radio and the heating/ac unit. Are there clips behind it that pop off, and is there a tool that can make it easier?

Thumbs up

Terry,

This may be a little late, but if you haven't done it already, it's really pretty easy. Turn the vent that is located just left of the radio so that it is directed towards the driver's seat. You should then be able to reach in there and grab the trim piece from behind and gently pull/pry it off. The airbag shutoff switch is wired in this trim piece, so start off by prying off the trim piece from the driver's side and pry your way over to the passenger's side...when it's completely loose, just let it hang by the airbag shutoff wires. If I remember right, there are just some clips that release when you pull on the trim piece, so when you're done, all you have to do is snap it back into place. This worked for both my truck (a '99) and my dad's truck (a '97) so it should work for your's too. Hope this helped!

Matt
