I need help with a rattling problem

hey guys,
I have a 2005 reg cab F150 with 2 10's. There is a lot of rattling in my truck when i have the bass turned up. I have thought about dynamat but I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on it. If there are any other suggestions please let me know. I'm not a big whiz in the audio department.

Thanks

I have seen alot of prefab boxes that rattle when flexing. If you have a sub enclosure that wasn't hand built by an experienced person, I would check there first.

Box is a good thing to look at.

If you can pinpoint them you will find that a lot of them can be between panels. Either stick something between them or tighten them better. I had ducttape on, over, around, and between panels all over in my old truck that really helped with the rattling.

If you have panels that are resonating and such you will def want some sound deadener. Dynamat is good, but expensive. There are cheaper alternatives that can work just as good...Raamat, Secondskin, I cant believe Im going to say this but eDead, and if your really cheep, go to Homedepot and get some Peel n Seal.

I dont know if its just the reg cabs or what, but they must hardly support the back of the headliners at ALL in these trucks. My domelight and headliner at the rear move up and down an inch or so even at lower volumes Hell the damn little overhead console too. Im half tempted to try to rip that headliner down (before it falls down) and find a way to support and attach it to the roof a little better.

Hell it probably acts like a passive radiator. 1 inch of peak-to-peak Xmax with 10 sq.ft. of cone area Adds 3 dbs

(bad attempt at humor :o )

I thought the best it'd do would be to act as an annoying fan!

n e ways, I bet that if we stuff the headliner with something like bubble wrap, we'd get a sturdier roof.. we do that on some of the overheads we do here at work so that it doesn't sag more on one side....
