I was going to send you that link. Well not exactly that website but another one selling the same PIE. I was told that if you have the pre-wire package and you bought this item than it will work. To me its too much money to chance it so Im going to buy the Alpine PKG-RSE2 and paint it the same color as my overhead bin (flint grey). This site sells Ford factory color paint. From my understanding they have a contract with Ford

I like the alpine unit. Im just not sure how it will look installed or how to install it with the overhead rails. I guess you could mount it to an overhead bin or something. that at least would make it mount to the rail.
I wouldnt worry about it matching your interior. to me it already has enough gray to come close to matching.
If you install it let me know how it comes out.

I will do. It should be that difficult. I'm going to mount it between the railsystem the best I can than cover it with the trim that comes with it. The trim ring will need to be cut, in order to fit over the rails. The unit is all black. I know that their are some pics online with the sides being grey but that is not true. I called alpine on this issue. Go to crutchfield.com and you will see the actual pic of the unit. My headliner is grey so I would like for it too match.
Okay, I used to work with KC autosound. I did successfully add the DVD overhead without the harness. First thing is, you absolutely have to have the audiophile radio, this is the only radio that will talk to the dvd player on the can bus. Second thing I did was plugged in the dvd player in the overhead harness, and routed the plug to the drivers side sill plate like it says, now you will not have a plug to plug this harness into, so you have to cut the plug off and get creative. It will work. Here is the pin configuration on the harness. Hope this helps!

Problem is I dont have the audiophile head unit nor do I have the wiring for the dvd player. So I have taken some "Alabama Engineering" and I aquired a wiring harness and I ran it from my radio up inside the trim and handle on the side of my windshield and up and through the ceiling under the headliner.
To make the thing work without the audiophile head unit I have ordered one of these

It should be here this weekend.
The reason I havent bought a audiophile HU is I have a shaker 1000 in the truck and I am gonna do everything I can to try and keep it. Swapping out the HU is the very last option.

Sounds good. Once your let let me know what I need to buy and where I can get it. I would love to make this work with the Pioneer Z2 head unit. If not Im going to purchase the Alpine PKG-RSE2 and paint it Light Flint (the same color as the headliner).
