pan plug

I have the factory nav with satalite and the plug in the pan. The plug works as a seperate funtion by pushing the "line in" button. I actually use it everyday to plug my xm-radio into to bypass the fm-transmitter. Works great. A buddy of mine has the plug also with the normal 6disc radio and his works well too, I believe he has to push the aux button on his radio.

Does anyone know how to wire the input jack to the head unit without using pie? I want to add the input tray to my 05. Thanks.

The Aux Input jack in the tray has to be run through the PIE to allow it to work with the AUX button on the factory head unit. The jack cannot be wired directly in to the factory head unit.

One note to those using PIE - you can put a splitter after it to run two devices. I have it that way for my Sirius & iPod. Now - I have to have one or the other off to get the best signal, but I don't have to do any more than power one on/off to use the other.

I just used a audio component splitter from Radio Shack.

For a newbie, what is the PIE?
I have an 05 as well and would love to add the dash tray input jack for my portable GPS.
I should mention that I have the roof mounted DVD system.

PIE is the company that makes the ipod adapter.

Go to your local wally world or Meijers and buy a scorche hardwire fm modulator and save ya about 50 bucks rather than the PIE. same audio quality.
