I dont know how much it costs now, but in my 04 it was around a $500 option. I think for the money, it will not be easy to beat. Sure, you can put things in that sound better. No matter what you put in, there is always something better. It all comes down to how much money you are willing to spend.

For the price, it cant be beat though.
I'm in the process of having an amp and sub put into my 07 Screw. I bought a Qlogic sub box and it looks just like "BlueFlaresides" box. Appears to be a bit shorter, doesn't go as far over the center hump. But holds a 10 inch sub. Going with a 140 watt amp, probably will be mounted on the hump. (any suggestions?) $230 for the box. I think I got a deal on the Memphis sub and amp for $160. Have the appt. next Fri. Have to let you know how it sounds.

Premium 6-CD W/MP3

So, in my 07 Lariat Super Crew I have the Premium 6-CD W/MP3 capability (not an audiphile). I see MP3 functions and lables all over the HU which I have loaded with 6 CDs. I have no subwoofer installed (though I want one). I don't see any tweeters in the front doors.

Am I probably right that:

1. The doors contain four cheap speakers?
2. The subwoofer wiring is already ran through the cab (tucked away)?
3. The HU does NOT have the sub outputs?

One of the salesmen that sold me my truck said he would let me have his subwoofer out of his audiophile setup for $100. But, he didn't mention anything about the wiring or the HU sub output---as though it would already be in mine.
I might have to tear this thing open unless anyone of you can set me straight first.

I realize this is off thread, but I did want to back up on my earlier post. Now I didn't want anything that was going to set off car alarms as I drove down the block. The system works nice. 4 gauge power cable was installed for any future upgrades, and one of those decoder boxes for the sub. still the stock H/U (not an audiophile). Now the bass on the H/U is turned down to half and the treble up to about three quarters. Feels like someone is patting the back of the seat. And outside, is still amazingly quiet. Total incl. install $490.

Why should we trust you when Ford says:

The audio system

The audiophile sound system in the F-150 was designed and enhanced in Visteon's sound management laboratory in Dearborn, Mich. Visteon's engineers ensure the audio system performs to specific levels, given the materials and design of the interior.
Sony does make the one in the Focus however.

It is the same radio in my focus audiophile as it is in my truck... explain that one. Just some feature differences but all the same buttons and looks. Go to the visteon web sight and it shows the only 6 disk ford radio they make....

Why would Ford Lie? OEMs make them look how Ford wants them to look.

the parts manufacturers for the auto companies still have SOME dignity. Visteon is not going to make a radio that component wise will interchange with a sony radio. You admit that the focus has the sony radio. I have a focus with the audiophile unit, and a 2007 F-150 with the audiophile system sitting right next to each other in the driveway. They are basicly the same radio. Some stenseling on the function of a couple of buttons are different. That is all. Trust me.. I wish my radio was a visteon. I HATE sony electronics. I had a audiophile system in my 2003 focus that WAS made by visteon. I liked it MUCH better than the sony crap.
