New to world of cbs with uniden

The other day I recieved a uniden bearcat pc68xl. Is this a good cb? I am waiting on the guy to get me a whip, it is a magnetic type of whip. When I recieve it I will post what kind it is. I plan to mount the cb in the hole where my ashtray currently sits. What type of cable is needed to wire this cb? I just need some general ideas on how to wire it because it has no instructions and Im clueless. Oh yeah and I guess I have to drill a hole through my roof?

Did you get the powe cord with it or do you need to get one? as far as the Ant goes i have never personally hard mounted one i have alwas us a mag mount and had no problems. I use a K40 Ant. As for wiring I have in the past use the the cig adapter, the one in my truck now I hard wired to see if it was better the cig adapter plus you can hide the wires. Here is a link to the site with your radio. You should be able to buy most of the supplies for your radio at radio shack or at least the use to see that kind of stuff. Good luck.

You shouldn't need an external speaker, unless that's your thing or you need increased volume on a job site or something. This page has your owner's manual - should get you headed in the right direction. Enjoy!
