04+ sound deadener install log

sup guys. I'm gonna keep this thread up to date and detailed with my sound deadening project. I already have the back seat out so I'm leaving the revoval details out. I'm gonna try to take pics along the way but once I get started I like to just get it all finished. I ordered 100 sq ft of mat and I'll be picking up about 10 cans of great stuff for the project. I'll update once the material arrives

I'll try. I'm gonna do it just like the rest of my installs. Gut it use two layers EVERYWHERE and then start treating the plastics with the left over. I hope 100 sq ft is enuff. I'f I have enuff I'll go three layers on the roof two layers on all other sheet metal and then one on all the plastic. with great stuff filling some of the voids. anyone who has taken out the back seat knows what I'm talking about

Thats the stuff i used on my truck, i did two layer on the back wall and back row of seats on the floor, one layer in doors, and one layer on floor under front row of seats. Ive got 1200w pushed into 2 12" subs facing down.

See my box thread in sig for more details on that.

I have 100 sq ft but I'll need more.
no
yes
Crapmat sucks, I've used that in the past. its asphalt based. which is inferior to the butyl based stuff I'm using. which is more like dynamat, raammat and others

Thats good info to know for me, my next truck will be a regular cab

Lookin good styxnpicks. Whats this 'Great Stuff' you are talking about though? Im assuming its a brush on deadener? Ive never heard of it before though.

For some reason I get emails from Eduh too, and I just noticed their Edead v.1 is now a butyl based mat instead of asphalt. I might have to try that stuff out on my next vehicle. Cheap priced stuff too.

id recommend buying 1.5-2 rolls of raammat and some ensolite foam from rick directly at raammat.com. i wasnt able to buy the foam bc my budget ran short, itll help completely silence road noise. raammat has the BEST proportion of quality to value out there and is a tested and proven product.
