Ruford: 99 F150 CD Changer install help request
Hi ruford here, I am new to the forum
The 99 F150 XLT is my 1st pickup
Well I have been researching installing a "6" CD changer from a 2003 F150.
There seems to be a "bracket" on the top side of the radio cavity that is not an issue for the current radio/Cassette player setup but will be in the way for the CD changer unit
Any helpful insights to if my desire to install the CD changer is workable.
I have received altering views from the Bone yds I have found a unit at and an installer that works on FORD audio units.
Also is the "stock" Six CD changer a worthy unit?
I have found one in a Bone yard for $225 delivered ot my door...
I am open to alernative options for the installation of a CD unit for the truck.
Thanks

Hi All
I have done a Crutchfield search and have an interesting direction to take instead of a cd changer
My research seems to point in the direction of the
Panasonic MXE CQ-C5401U,($199.99) as a cd player unit.
This cd player has an AUX input in the rear, and for about $10 you can add an adapter cord and have is placed so that it is easily accessible. This cord would accept multiple applications including the audio of a DVD player.
Eventually get an IPOD (approx cost $199.99) that stores up to 500 songs. In this case there would be no long term need for a changer, and once the IPOD is loaded (not sure if that is a big task or not) one would have their favorites in a very portable unit that would be useful in multiple other appplications.
Any thoughts??
