Where to run Power wire?

OK, I just bought my truck and am in the process of putting my stereo in it. I have run the RCA and remote wire but have yet to find a place to put the power wire through the firewall. I have an 04 Scab. I looked up under the dash on the passenger side but couldnt find any holes leading into the firewall. Can someone oint me in the right diretion? Thanks

If you look under your hood on the passengers side, you will see two wiring harness' (sp?) going through the firewall. They aren't that far down. You can force the wire through the lowest one. Then, from inside the dash you will see that wire harness, if you run your hand up it you will be able to feel where it comes in. Just grab your wire from there and pull it in. This is where I ran mine. It might not be the best place, but it's the only way I could find.

I got it done today! Thanks alot for the advice. The one wiring harness that was right behind the battery on the fire wall was perfect. Thanks again

Hey guys,
what size wire did you manage to squeeze through that hole?
I was looking at mine, and it seems kinda tight for anything
bigger than about an 8AWG wire...

From the looks of it, that whole rubber piece looks like it can
come out..
thanks

I used 8 gauge wire but plan on upgrading to 4 gauge when I add the amp for my mids. The 8 fit easily so I'm sure the 4 gauge will fit if you can get the rubber gromet out of the way.

Yea, no problem.

I think im using 6 guage. I'm sure bigger would fit, if anything you might just cut a little slice in the rubber gommet, and it'll fit.

I just ran my 4 gauge wire. Just behind the battery there are the two wire harnesses that was mentioned above. There is also a small rubber gromet the size of your pointer finger to the right of the top harness, that is where I ran mine.

I just ran mine through that hole today--had to slice a hole through the insulating mat just on the other side with an x-acto knife. Was somewhat of a trick to shove the wire in and around the fan blower just behind it. Works good.

I have a fuse holder that I need to run near the battery--what's the best way to secure it so it doesn't flap around? Tie wrap it to the side of the fender?
