ALPINE Ipod Connector

well, got my Ipod Nano friday, thus had to get it hooked up to the system... I'm not a fan of the sound quality from the FM modulators- they aren't bad, but I want Crisp, clean sound, no hassles. SO... I have the alpine 9853 head-unit in the truck, which allows direct control with the addition of KC420i iPod interface...awesome . full search, display control thru the headunit, just plug it in- even charges my ipod for me- the sound quality is awesome thru it as it is the ipod jack connected to the interface which is routed to the Ai slot on the deck. its black (perfect, as my truck is black, and so is the Nano) have it in the back of the lower din, just slide the ipod in alpine logo comes up on the iPod, acknowledging the connection, and the headunit control override and voila, use the glide strip on the deck face just like the click wheel. $120 all said and done- in my opinion well worth the extra $50 over the Monster Cable iPod modulator-

Justin

Got one hooked up in the car, but not so far in the truck, using the PIE adapter for now. Damn car keeps gettin broken into, so it may just go in the truck soon.

Question for you guys who have the Alpines. When I disconnect the iPod and then plug in the remote and headphones, the volume control on the remote doesn't respond. I have to reset the iPod or connect it to the computer and then all is well. I looked into it on Apple's and Alpines forum awhile ago but gave up. Mine is a 30GB model, curious if you guys have this issue too?

no problems on my Nano, or on my girlfriend's 60gb... do you have the most up to date software version on the iPod?

check my gallery- the first one.(click my sig) should have a couple pics of the headunit- its great, love it- tons of customizeable features to get the most sound from whichever source. speaker wise, im running MB Quart Premium 6.25' components in the front and MB quart 6 x9's in the rear. off of an Alpine MRV-345 amp behind the dash. it rocks.
