need antenna help

My wife took my truck to the car wash without un screwing my shorty antenna. When she got back home I noticed my antenna bent back and reception on my radio all full of static. Now if I am driving and hit a bump it gets worse. I can move the antenna around and it gets better. I think the base or the entire thing is messed up.
Any ideas of what could be the problem?
is it hard to cahnge out the entire antenna cable and base?
thanks alot.

The base is pretty easy to take off. Youll need a screw driver to pop off the black plastic cover, then a phillips screw driver to unscrew the 3 screws holding the base to the fender, then it just comes right out.

Here is a site I found for replacement parts when I was lookin for a new antenna base. You will probably want to order a new cover too(the 2 dollar plastic cover) because you will most likely mess it up trying to take it off.

Put in your trucks model and year and under 'electrical' on the menu on the left, click on antenna.
