I picked up my '05 FX4 last month after returning from Iraq, and I was wondering if the stock head unit could control a kenwood 6-CD changer. I have the base CD, but I noticed the 'AUX' button on it, and was wondering if there was a harness adapter out there somewhere to plug the changer into.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello,

First off I think I speak for everone when I say thank you for serving our country. Greatly appreciated.

Now, Im not real familiar with the 04+ f150's, but to my knowledge you cant control an aftermarket cd changer with the stock HU.
However, most aftermarket cd changers come with a little controler thing that you mount somewhere to control it. To get it to play through the stock stereo it hooks up with a FM modualtor. Its a device that goes on the antenna wire and when you tune to a certain station on your radio, it will play the cd changer.

But, I dont think there is a harness made to hook it directley to the cd player and control it, someone else should know for sure.

If you dont already have the Kenwood you could look for a stock Ford CD changer on Ebay or something.

Yes you can - but not easy, I'm trying to find the brand that made the "black boxes" that interface the communications...

Here's an item that crutchfield carries that will work with the stock deck...

I'd like to thank you also, for serving this great country. They make what your talking about for the iPOD, but so far I haven't seen anything to solve your problem. www.crutchfield.com has a bunch of auxiliary input adapters to can go online or call them and ask if they make such an adapter.

Good luck, and thatnks again for your service.
