Help with Alpine 9833

I recently installed an ALpine 9833 HU, Can somebody give me some insight on what the best setting would be with the crossovers, time correlation, and EQ. I have 4 Alpine Type S 6x8's. Right now the Bass is way to much and I cant figure out how to set it up. Thanks

Just mess around with everything untill it sounds good to you.

If there is to much bass, try centering your low frequencies on 80 Hz and set it for a narrow frequency sweep. Most of the time its labeled 2N 1N 1W 2W. 2N will give you a narrower range of frequncies getting played, and 2W will give you a wider range of frequncies getting played, so on 2W it will have more bass and be louder.

Isnt there just a "bass" button you can turn down too?

I have the 9831 with the 4 band parametric. I'm still playing with it after about 4 months. I found that if you keep the eq rather flat..around 0db it tends to sound a little better. If you start to crank them up over 3 or 4 db's it starts to over saturate. All my widths are set at 1.0. I like the crisper, punchier bass. Another thing I noticed is to turn off the MX enhancer then adjust your eq. I think the MX is better for the lower volume levels, but if your going to start turning it up at all it will sound real Bassy with the MX turned on.
