acc power wire? what one to use??

I want to hard wire my xm radio and need to know what wire would be the best to tap into under the dash with out ripping all apart. I just want to find 12v wire that I can tap into that only has power with the key on. I will be wiring a "cig lighter style adapter" and pluging my xm in to that due to it being only 6v.

I want to make it so it only has power when the key is on.

My truck is a 97 xlt

Thanks...

I would say just wire it into the Ignition wire on your radio harness.

I am no expert by any means but that would work i would think.

According to PopeRebel, by trail and error he determined that the light green with yellow strip wire is a switched wire. This is what he ran his remote wire from his amp to, and says that when the radio shuts off, the amp does also.

Try that wire at your own risk though. I wouldn't wnat to be responsible for passing along bad information/guesses.

Good Luck!
