Alpine Amp Questions
Alpine Amp Questions
I am planning on running a Alpine MRV-F450 5 channel in my 2002 Super Cab. From what I can see I can not fit it behind the rear seat as the truck has a power rear window. I also have a drivers side power seat. Did I miss something or is there a way to wedge that size amp (11 13/16 X 2 3/8 X 16 1/2) behind the rear seat with that motor back there? Other option is under the center part of the flip down.
Is anyone familiar with this amp and how it does?
Do you recomend this over a 4 channel and then a mono?
Rest of system - Alpine HU with XM. Boston Acoustic NX87 in all 4 doors with Dynamat. One Polk Momo 8" sub in .35 volume sealed box.
Thanks for any help

I would reccomend going with a 4 channel amp and a mono amp. I reccomend the MRP-M350 mono amp from alpine(I have this amp) It will run your subwoofer in 4 ohms at 200W RMS and if you decide to add another woofer, just wire it to 2 ohms and the wattage jumps to 350 RMS. Now for the 4 channel amp i would recommend the Alpine MRP-F240 that puts out 40W RMS to 4 channels at 4 ohms. You can get both of these amplifiers for 199.99 each off crutchfield for a total of 400 where as the Alpine MRV-F450 costs about 500. I did not get my amp for 199.99. I got my MRP-M350 for 130 from etronics.com and I think you can get the MRP-F240 for 130 on the weekends at circuitcity. That whould help in space and money. The amp works greeaaattt!!! Check out my gallery.
I am sorry if I miss led you, but I only have the Mono amp. I do not have the 4 channel amp. I ran a 4 guage wire to my amp, but a 8 guage wire will work since the box says to run 8 guage wire. I ran 4 guage because it keeps the noise down and possiblely elliminate the need for a capacitor. Its overkill.
