installing oem2 question

I have a 2003 Ext Cab and I have a question about the 'remote wire' for the amp I just installed.I hooked up the PAC OEM-2 line out converter, and every thing works good except the trigger wire it told me to use keeps the power on all the time when the key is on and the radio is off. The instructions say to hook the 'trigger' wire to a + speaker wire coming from the radio, and the 'output' trigger wire to the remote wire. The PAC detects .08 volts or more and supposedly this kicks on the amp when you turn the radio on. The problem is, it seems to have some volts going to the left front + speaker wire, even when the radio is off. Has someone hooked a voltage meter to the HU and found a wire that is hot only after the radio is on?

Amp Trigger

YOu might try using a fuse tap on a switch circuit to turn you amp on and off. This might be a little more relible.
