CB Installation Thoughts

Does anyone have any thoughts on mounting a Cobra 29 CB in an '04 Super Cab? I've already got a Motorola on the dash for work, so that area's occupied. The '01 I used to have had enough room to bolt a radio rack in the floor ahead of the center console, but not this one. Not only is the console closer to the dash, the floor is slightly uneven so bolting something to the floor there wouldn't be easy even if it did fit.

I'd like to use the overhead rail system, but it appears no one makes anything that would handle a radio -- I thought such a product had come out.

Any help?

Thanks,
Dave in Naples, FL

CB installation

Physically mounting the unit to the rails is no problem. I purchased 1/2" aluminum C-channels to grip the groove on the existing rails and spanned the gap with flat aluminum bars. (I'm mounting a professional and LARGE Uniden model)

Once on the rails where do you get power for the CB? I thought of using the front overhead driver and passenger reading lamp source, but how do you get under the clear plastic lenses without destroying the plastic casing?

Once I find power, I'll post photos of the final installation.
