2003 Stock CD player problem!

my stock Cd player is not reading cd's right.. sometimes it works and sometimes, it just keeps spiting out the cd and saying
"BAD CD" Anyone else have this problem

Is it the in dash changer? Ive replaced probably a dozen of those units for various reasons, they just arent made very well.
