stereo question
I am trying to decide between a few head units... Does anyone have any experience with these....
Also some are available in refurbished models, are they really as good as new?
the models I am choosing between are
Clarion VRX745VD new $785 shipped
Clarion VRX935VD refurb $826 shipped
Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD new $875 shipped
I am also looking at
Alpine IVA-D900, but that may be a little out of my price range at near $1050 shipped.....
Also any other suggestions for a unit that play cd/dvd/xm and has a monitor that comes out and goes into the head unit that I might like
which of these companies have the best reputation

The Clarion 935vd has a reputation of being an industry leader. It's clarion's flagship. As for refubished, any deck that has been refurbed' is supposed to be "like new" . If the refurb comes with a warranty, then your prob. covered. Pioneer and Alpine are also at the top, Alpine is known for being more expensive than it's competitors for the same options. It really comes down to what you like and can afford. If the clarion or pioneer comes with a 1 or 2 yr warranty, then go for it, it would be the same as buying new, except it's been gone through recently.

pioneer all the way
I sell both and have no troubles with the pioneer,it's a bad*** piece with alot to add like nav. and multiple screens.I am installing two tomorrow.As for clarion,they are a little behind on the graffics and funcutions-like crossovers and eqs-nuff said.

Pioneer is better than a lot of people think. But, I'd spring for the extra few dollars and get the Alpine. I have that same model, and you can't get much better than that for the money; maybe Eclipse.
