Part number for factory subwoofer wire harness '04

Hey, I'm trying to add the Audiophile system to my new truck. I already got the head unit, next I need the subwoofer and its wiring harness. My parts source couldn't find the part number for the wiring harness.

If someone with the Audiophile system can find a part number stamped on their sub wiring harness, please email it to me.

thanks,

ok, so I have yet to pull out my radio and verify for myself, but I read a post on another site and someone said that the subwoofer wire plug was already in their dash.

Can someone tell me though, where does the subwoofer wire harness come out under the rear seat? From the rear panel or the carpet? Also, is the plug closer to the jack under the seat, or closer to the driver's rear door? Because I would like to check back there to see if the plug is there.

I gave you the part numbers i could find on your other post.

The plug comes out under the rear drivers side from under the carpet. On my diagram it looks like there is a connector around the floor area behind the front seat near the sill. I never had that side of my interior out so i can't verify the plug gig. In the repair manual it is on 9-1 and is digram number 24

I am doing the same thing. What is the part number for the subwoofer assembly? I will look for the subwoofer plug in the morning. When I installed my HU I saw a plug in the same harness as the 2 other plugs. BTW the smaller plug, according to the Ford wiring diagram, is used exclusivly for the DVD system only.

Steve, I replied the other day in my other post. Those numbers weren't of much help. THe one number actually referred to the main dash harness which costs like $400.

Richard, I think it was your message I saw on another forum. So that plug is not for the subwoofer but for the DVD? The Supercrew sub box part number is 4L32-18C804-BA. Supposedly the Supercab box is different but I don't see how?

SteveVFX4, On my "04 SuperCrew Lariet the extra plug is indeed for the subwoofer. I was installing a Ham Radio tranceiver yesterday and I plugged the extra plug in my radio. Ford had a dummy plug on the connector that had to come off first.

I am just waiting on the arrival of the Ford sub. I ordered it via my local dealer. I was looking around the left side of the rear bench seat and tried to locate the sub connector. I was not able in the short time I had to look. I will continue to look.

BTW when I said the smaller plug I ment the 16 pin plug on the CD changer/HU. The 8 pin plug is the one for the sub.

I put in my Audiophile head unit today. The subwoofer plug was already there, just like you said, with a dummy connector on it. As I suspected, and read about before, is that the Audiophile unit must have a crossover built into it because my door speakers no longer play any deep bass. I definately need to get ahold of a sub box now.

I also tried to look around for the subwoofer plug near the rear seat with no success. I just popped off the black trim plate on the driver's rear lower door seal, and tried to reach under the carpet there to feel for a plug. Nothing. I'm thinking it might come out from the rear panel somewhere?

You guy's are gonna have to dig deeper than that. It's going to be under the carpet near the back of the drivers seat. mine pops out of the carpet under where the sub box was. Steve, look at that wire diagram i sent ya at connector 24. It appears to be in the middle of the floor, not in the sill.

Steve, approximately where did your's pop up out of the carpet? I did reach well under the carpet away from the sill and towards the center hump and still did not find anything? I'll try again though. I did look at your diagram and I thought I was in the right spot, but still didn't find anything?

Maybe it's tied up to another harness somewhere and not run back to middle of the rear seat? If that's the case, I'll have to remove the rear seat or something so I can pull more of the carpet up to see what's under there.

With the drivers seat out, you would be able to pick up the entire drivers side carpet. You might be right, it probably is tied up or missing the final pig tail to the sub setup. Let us know what you find.

Mine pops up out of the carpet about half way under the drivers rear seat about 6 inches in towards the hump from the outside. There is just a slice in the carpet and a connector sticking out. When I bailed the plug, it lays flat on the floor and just about heads up the hump against the back wall under the back seat.

well I pulled out the drivers seat to take a better look. I wasn't able to pick up the carpet that much, but enough to look under. I still did NOT find the sub harness. There's a group of wires that comes away from door sill/main pillar between the front/rear door, and nothing came off that harness to head towards the rear. It just keeps running across towards the center console/hump. That's where I thought #24 would be according to that wiring diagram.

The only left to try is to take out the rear seat somehow and pull out the very back panel and look under the carpet there to see if comes out there?

I don't understand, if the sub plug was already up in the dash, you would think the other end of it would be back near the rear seat somewhere?

Richard, have you had any luck?

The carpet at the back wall is not held down by the seat. That's why you want to remove the drivers seat so the carpet has more area to fold so you can get it un-tucked from the rear. Look to make sure there are no plastic looking clips with philips head screws holding the carpet down around under the drivers and pass seat. The console might also need to be loosened up if it applies to your truck. My carpet was completly up on the entire pass side.

In response to your e-mail, yes there are 2 24's. You want the one on the drivers side. It represents the plug that goes into the amp on the factory sub box. It is a different shape than the one at the back of the HU. I'm not sure what the other one is on the pass side. There is no legend from the manual that say's exactly what those numbers are, if there is i didn't get it when i had my subscription. I had alot of trouble with that motorcraft.com but they gave me an extra 3 days. Seemed like the server was oveloaded everytime I queried a new page.

You may want to get as far as you can and let a car audio shop finish up the install. You may be out of luck if the wire harness can't be found or ordered. A shop could get it going rewiring the sub setup unless you think you can figure that out.

I just did some more digging around through the stuff i downloaded. Under page 415-00-9 Entertainment system Diagnosis and testing. It shows Sub Amp C3020 and has a number of A0075199 when showing the plug at the amp. There has to be a number that gets them on the page with that pig tail. If it is like that digram you have, there is a small pigtail conector that might not be in your truck.

Good luck

UPDATE: I was at my dealer for service, and the service guy helped me look up some wiring charts. I have a component layout of plug locations, and the C3020 plug that goes to the sub/amp is shown to be in the lower driver's rear corner of the cab. I haven't had time to check for myself yet, but I'm hoping it is there. I did find the little slit in my carpet where the plug is supposed to come out, and reached into the slit but didn't find the plug yet. I think its tied back in the corner by the back wall. I'm going away this weekend, I'll try first thing next week to find it.

here is the chart I scanned in:

My only question that remains, do you think the Supercab sub box and Supercrew sub box is the same or different?

I'm 99% sure they are the same boxes. I am positive that both trucks have the same back seats and have the same amount of room for the box to fit.
