Components in STOCK kicks?

With the high price of custom kick panels, Ive been trying to figure out how to mount some component woofers, but i dont want them in the stock speaker location. So I was thinking, what if I jsut cut a hole out in the stock kick panels and stuck them in there. Is it going to sound bad, or cancel each other out since they are shooting at one another and be way down at your feet.

Components would JUST fit in there. I would have to move all the wired and stuff back there to get mounting depth. If i did that I would have enough room to mount some Infinities Ive boon lookin at(1 15/16 inch backspacing)

Maybe i should jsut buy some 7 or 8 inch diameter pvc pipe and cut alittle piec at an angle so I can piont the woofer where i want. I might do that, I was jsut wondering what you technical audio gurus had to say about the stock kicks idea.

Just cutting a hole in the stock kicks is a big no no. If you want to go on the cheap check out Qforms kick panels.

I figured it wouldnt work.

Anyway, thanks for the link. 70 bucks is pretty good compared to 130 for a new pair.

just curious as to why his idea wouldnt work. How do the ones they sell get better sound over mocking the angle with some pipe and fiberglassing it to a nice smooth finish?
