Steering wheel controls

I just replaced my factory head unit and I was prepared to loose my radio controls. My issue is I also lost my temp and fan controls also. Is this normal or has the installer done something wrong. I have a 98 Navigator. Thanks!

Your installer screwed up. Take it back. I am pretty sure you can get your steering controls to work again but not sure on the product. I've seen many suggestions to this here.

Installer probably pulled the vacuum lines loose when installing the radio or forgot to connect one of the electrical connectors to the back of the controls if he moved those to get extra room to work.

Im gonna go back this weekend because not having the temp and fan controls on the wheel is really annoying. The radio has a remote so thats no problem but having to reach over everytime its too warm or too chilly is getting old... Thanks for the replies

Well actually I wouldnt say I was being spoiled. I sit far back and I have to reach to adjust the temp controls and it actually takes my eyes off the road. So its a safety issue.

Search ebay for a SWI-X steering wheel control unit. Lets you use your stock wheel controls for your AM unit and also lets you hook up your heat controls and stuff. Should run about 50-60 bucks and is pretty easy to install.
