Questions...

Hello,

I have a 2001 F150 X-cab and have all the components to install my system. I had 2 questions:

1. Where do you store all the stuff? I got the custom box for the truck which takes up all the space under the back seat. I need to find space for 2 amps, a power dist. block, and cross-over.

2. Where do you buy carpet? I may need to make something to mount the amps too, and want to keep it all looking the same. I went to CAP and Autozone, but they looked at me like I had 2 heads.

Thanks

1) Youv'e got room under the front seats, and behind the rear seat on the wall.

2) When you say carpet, are you talking about the material on the box you just got or the actual carpet on the floor of the truck? Wal-Mart has the stuff the boxes come done up in. It is in the Fabric Area and is known as Felt. Any Fabric Store carries it. I don't have a clue as to actual carpet.

Good Luck

Thanks Steve,

I'll try out Wal-Mart. I should have started there, they seem to always have everything.

I looked under my seats and am hoping it fits under there, but it's going to be tight. I didn't think there was any space behind the back seat. I'll check it out.

Thanks Man

Wal-Mart also carries a few different colors of the automotive carpet. They have a tan that is about as close to a perfect match to Ford's tan color that you could ever hope to get. They also have black, burgundy, and blue if I am not mistaken. Look in the Automotive department you should find it.

As for the trunk style carpet that most boxes come covered in check with a local shop and they should be able to sell you a perfect match. It isn't really felt exactly, yes it has the same weave and maybe even the same colors but ove time felt just wears out much faster than the actual trunk carpet material.

Thanks Man

I have three amps behind the rear seat in my 99 SC. I ended up cutting out most of the steel brace at the bottom of the seat back rest. I also brought the bottom of the seat back out an inch and a half or so for air circulation. It still looks stock with everything reinstalled. Till you open the back door and notice that the seat bottom is 3 inches higher and is mounted to my box, that is...
