2004 Install Kits/Pics
I just bought a '04 F150 Screw and was wondering if anyone has found an install kit for a DIN sized radio that looks good? If so, does anyone have pics? I went to the local stereo shop today and the one they had was generic looking. I have an Alpine that I want to install, but I dont want it to look like an after thought. Also, does anyone know of a nice enclosure that fits under the rear seats for some SUBS??
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
Metra makes a double din inst. kit for our F150. If you only want a standard din install then it also has a standard sized plastic accessory pocket to take up the other space. You can buy these at Circuit City and Crutchfield (probably other places too).
Pretty sure the generic kit he is reffering to is something like the metra. If you want to fit it there, it is your only option that i am aware of.
Now if you want to do it up, mount your HU down where the cig lighter and back up warning button are if applicable. You will have to cut the opening in your dash plate on the edges to square them up but it looks awesome. Then you will have room to mount a LCD where the double din hole is. Then you got TV/DVD and your alpine. If you search here and on the 2004 forum, it will bring up some of these instals i am reffering too. Lookup "Install" in the 2004 F150 section and they will pop up. Looks like they came from the factory like that but you would be dropping another 500-1000 on the rest of the setup.

Thanks for the info. The kit i looked at was the Metra and was just cheap looking. My truck is the XLT version with the colum shift and the bottom of my dash isnt flat like the Lariats with the floor shifter. I really like how that looks, but with my dash is just not an option. Im going to keep waiting and see what else comes out. I might go with a double din stereo if I cant find any kits i like.
thanks again!
thanks again!
