Angry Visteon CD6 Problem - won't load/eject

My CD6 (in 2000 Screw) worked fine last night playing the Rolling Stones. But this morning I inserted 2 CDs, one in slot 1 and the other in slot 2. The display read "CD error - ejecting". The unit clicked but no CD came out. The unit does not respond to any eject command for any slot. Any ideas on what's wrong? I've had CD errors before but I simply ejected and re-loaded and all was fine. Unit is about 2 years old. Help me out; I need my tunes (please)....

If there isnt a reset button on your deck I would try unplugging the deck from the vehicle for a while. Then plug it back in and see if it works properly. You might get lucky.

Thanks 'grayflare' and fellow Alabamian....

Tried that-- did not work. Pulled unit out and took off top and took out load/eject mechanism. Could not figure out how to get the CDs out, so a I buttoned it all back up and re-installed.

According to Ron at Radios and More (radiosandmore.com), this is a known problem with the CD6--so other CD6 owners please note. Here's the repair info, in case anyone's interested:

Cool

If you are handy with tools and maybe a soldering iron, you can try this too:

Instructional Web Site For Radio Fixes

Costs $20 to join but will more than pay for itself...

B-Man, thanks. Have you used this info to fix a Visteon CD6 eject error? And if so, did it work? The error advertised on the Web site involves a Ford MACH CD player. Am wondering if the mechanism is the same...

Thanks,
