Delphi SkyFi

Received a SkyFi XM radio for Christmas. Quite excited about the size and main feature, portability.
See no perfect solution to mounting in my '98, with 5-speed and transfercase shift lever. Not nearly enough room below the center dash pod. Also, not uncommon to carry 3-people. So room for legs and knees is tight.
Am toying with two possible ideas. Install in the glove box and operate with the remote. Or, add an overhead console and use the pockets there. However, if the overhead console is used, will need to extend power cords.
Looking for someone with FIRST HAND experience in lending advise.

Search on F150 over at www.xmfan.com, they've got all sorts of folks who've done installs with the Skyfi.

I have the same thing. I think Im going mount the unit on the windshield right above the rear-view mirror. I just havent decided if Im going to use the car adapter kit with the glue/stick on stuff, or search for a suction cup type of mount.

I plan to fish the antenna wire over the headliner and out the 3rd brake light to the roof. The power and line out wires will be fished around the windshield moulding and under the dash where I will install an additional accessory power socket for the lighter adapter (cant hardwire because the lighter adapter convers the 12v to 6v).

I also ordered an adapter (www.blitzsafe.com) that plugs into the rear of the factory radio that gives two RCA inputs that will be used as the line in inputs fromt he SkiFi Reciever. Once connected I will just have to push the CD button on the radio to activate the factory 6-disk changer, or push it again to activate the input for hte xm reciever.

When done, you wont see any wires, the reciever will be easy to see and control, and it wont be in an obvious position for a theif.

Satis, please post some pictures when you are done. I have been trying to figure out where I would put one, and your solutions sounds very interesting. Thanks.
