I have a 2003 Lariat. It has a single CD player in the stock radio.
My question is : When a cd is in the player and you switch to the radio or tape does the cd quit turning or not. I would think it does but can not confirm it. I would like to leave the cd in so I can switch and forth, but do not want the cd player to continue to run for an extended amout of time while not in use.

 

The CD player stops turning when it isn't active. That is why it takes a sec or two to start playing when you switch back to the CD player.
