Etronics.com... Anyone ever deal with them?

Hi,

I'm pricing an MTX 5-channel amp (and a few other misc.). This company always beats the competition by at least $60. Has anyone ordered from them recently? Good... bad experience?

Thanks,
Jon

I've ordered a few things from them without any problems, but I've never had to use their customer service.

They do seem to be among the cheapest on price, but keep an eye on their shipping charges. That's where they get some of it back.

I just ordered a Fosgate amp, Pioneer HU and a Kicker sub from them. So far so good. SHould be here this week. SHiping was on $34 for everything. Most places, except Crutchfield were wanting about $20 per item. I will post here when I receive the items

I bought Pioneer speakers from Etronics and it went great. Crutchfield DOES include some things that Etronics does not however. E.G. With speakers a plug that plugs directly into your factory plug and then to the speakers. with a head unit, Crutchfield supplies an install kit, the wire harness etc. I don't believe the Etronics supplies those items. Also Crutchfield has install instructions specific to your vehicle. I guess you get what you pay for. I will buy my head unit from Crutchfield despite the cheaper price from Etronics because of the additional items.

by the way, Crutchfield is only about $10 less per HU than Best Buy sale prices; and Best Buy does a free install. You do have to purchase the install kit additionally from Best Buy however. So saving probably exceeds $10. So, it's a matter of how much the free install is worth to you versus doing it yourself.

You are right about Crutchfield providing those things. Also, Crutchfield is a wonderful company. However, the unit that I ordered is $259. I paid $180 for mine and then bought the harness and install kit at Wal-Mart for $14 total. The install is simple in these trucks. Took me a total of 20 minutes to install the unit. This same unit at Best buy was $289 and they wanted $40 for the harness and install kit.

I am glad that I chose Etronics to purchase the items that I did. However, Crutchfield is certainly an awesome choice also. Their customer service is priceless.

Right now I have the mod bug so there is no such thing as money n the bank. However, I was very pleased with the decision I made on my HU. However, the company I used for my sub box and my flip down monitor do not get the same vote of confidence

where to buy a head unit is not a simple issue i discovered. went to best buy and wrote down all of their sale prices and model numbers. checked both etronics and crutchfield on the same exact models. cruthfield was, on average, about $10 MORE than best buy. etronics tended to be less on the cheaper models but more on the pricier models. etronics does not include the install kit but crutchfield DOES. the install kit at best buy is about twice the price of etronics but the install is FREE. i was looking at some kenwood models; best buy and crutchfield are offering the "free" tuner for sirius if you buy the antenna on some kenwood head units; etronics is not offering the free tuner. bottom line is you need to comparison shop very carefully; between sellers and the specific model of radio. there is no blanket answer.

Only major problem with etronics is they are not an authorized sellers or distributor of some of their name brand products. Or something like that. So if your looking for a warranty look elsewhere. Most manufactures dont honor their warranty when buying from places like this. and Some Items are non returnable like their kicker amps. Otherwise very cheap prices and ok customer service if you can get someone on the phone.
