Cd Changer Disk not read problems

I've seen a few threads regarding this question but haven't seem to find an answer yet. I have a ford factory 6/disk cd changer and the other day I was playing some burned cd's in there and it just stopped working. Now it cycles through the disks but it doesn't play them. I sucks them in an acts like it wants to play them, but nothing. I've seen where a few people have said to try and clean it but I never heard if that fixed the problem. This has happened to me one other time, but I just bought a new/used changer and the same thing happened again. Don't feel like forking out more money for the same problem. Any help from anyone would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Cleaning it won't solve your problem. The problem with factory decks is that they don't all come equipped to read burned cd's. My Honda factory deck did the same thing. Bruned cd's are not like what you buy in the store. I forgot exactly why. Your deck may play some and not others it all depends. But mainly it's the burned cd not your deck. If you buy an aftermarket deck that plays writable cd's or mp3's you will be ok.

Try burning your cd on different brands this worked on my house cd player . I've also noticed some new release cds don't work in in non CDR players.

could possibly be that your cd changer isnt reading the cd. I use only digital audio cd's when I burn and my player works fine with them. Not saying that is it, but could be...
