Talking Get In here....

I want a sound system for my room. I wanna be able to do 5.1 on my playstation 2 or my dvd player. My question is, is this a good one. http://www.xocute.com/product_detail...product=HTB406Kenwood Stereo Has anyone ordered from these people and do you think it will sound pretty good? Do you know of a better system for around $350 dollars.

I'd say that's fine for MOVIES.. but that is not what I would buy if you plan on trying to play MUSIC with it regularly. Then again, I'm a fan of the floor standing speakers (I have 2 with 15" woofers)... so I might be a little biased.

I bet it would be fine for a bedroom application. But like I say, it wouldn't be my choice because if you ever try to play music through it loud enough to be heard throughout the house.. it may not sound the greatest.

Just my OPINION though.

Yeah ...O.K. for a bedroom application...Depending on how serious you are later on.Your going to want MUCH nicer stuff for the Living room/Family room/Rec.room/Bar area ..what ever the heck you chose to call youe entertainment area...Belive me your going to want to buy your components one at a time when the money is available..I've been doing so for years now, continuously upgrading....I can't even use my powered 12" sub in the apt. i live in now ..hehh hehh.....

Roushfan-1 and Tek2000 thanks for the replies. I can add on bigger subs and stuff a little l8r. Right now I just want to get a decent sounding surround sound in my room. I think 600 Watt should be enough to start off with. To play playstation 2 and xbox games on. Sometimes dvd's and computer music. BTW Roushfan-1 did you get the amp hooked up yet. If it is anything like my audiobahn it shines like crazy.

No doubt my tv speakers are crap. Lightning hit my tv and magically the remote quit working. I went and got one of the elchameleon remotes from ratshack and it didn't work on my tv either. I am getting the sound system in a week or two. I just wanna play grand theft auto 3 with surround sound. So I can get the full effect of the game.

I love grand theft auto vice city. You can pretty much do anything you want on the game. It like a pill to me. I even did my college english project on that game. I had a power point video of my brother playing the game picking up women, beating golfers, and shotting police. I made a 95.
