Question 6 disk changer won't eject or play

I just bought a 98 F-150 extra cab lariat. I loaded the changer and it will not eject or play. Display reads "NO CD". The changer makes a noise like it's trying to eject but it doesn't. It's located just below the drivers extra cab window. How should I go about fixing this anoying little problem?

Did you ever get this problem resovled? I recently bought a 1997 F150 with a stock 6 disc changer and it is doing the exact same thing.

No I havn't

I waiting till I have some money saved up to have a stereo shop check it out. I'd also appreciate any advice anyone has on how to take apart the panel around the player in the rear cab department to get to the changer.

Unhappy

I wish I could say that it's an easy fix, but it isn't. At least it wasn't for me. I had this happen 2 years ago to my 6 disc changer in my '98 super crew. Come to find out, I stuck 2 discs in one slot by accident, and it bound up. The only advice I can give you is to take your time pulling things apart and don't force anything. I ended up pulling the back seat, window latch and seatbelt bracket to get the rear interior panel slid away far enough so I could get to the hold down bracket for the CD changer. Once your done with a mass string of profanity after getting the changer pulled, it's pretty straight forward. I pulled out my little screwdriver set and opened it up, pulled the stuck CD's and reinstalled it. It's worked like a champ ever since. Oh..did I mention I did this on the graveyard shift at work? Nothing like getting paid by the hour to take your own truck apart.
