Alpine XM Receiver Installed
For those of you with Alpine HU's or contemplating using the Alpine XM Receiver with the Integrated CD Changer controller, I though I would post a pic of where I mounted the receiving unit (it is the same for either application mentioned above).

Obviously, you just open the glove box (release the little tab to fold it down), slip the unit in, drill 1 small hole in the plastic for a mounting screw and you are done.
There is a ground directly below there, behind the passenger kick panel, and the included wire on the unit is plenty long enough to reach it.
The power wire goes to the +12V "always on" connection at your HU, and the supplied wire is 10 feet too long for that as well.
In a previous posting I mentioned putting the Terk XM antenna under the cowling and routing the cable across the front, through the steering area firewall grommet. Believe it or not, the co-axial cables were plenty long enough to reach back across inside to the glovebox.
All in all, a 100% stealth installation...
BTW, I got the receiver off E-Bay for $150. Brand new, in the box, with a warranty card.
That's $100 less than the local shops around here all sell it for...
