what the hell tool is this?
Hey guys,
I have an 03 extended cab and recently put a hifonics Zues Z4400 amp and Rockford HE2 sub in the back. Of course I measured and all but then when it came down to it the amp was to big to sit under the drivers seat. I mounted the amp on the floor right behind the seat and left room for the box, but of course in the end the box doesnt quite fit with out banging into the amp and laying flat on the ground. OK sorry, real question is you kno the short side filp up bench in the extended cab. I want to remove that seat, but the bolts or whatever the hell they are holding it in and like some sort of star shape? Is this a tool that only Ford dealers have?
How can I get this seat out?
Oh and also I am getting alot of throttle nosie now, is this because I removed the plug from the hole in the fire wall to run the power cable, or did I zip tie the cable to something thats vibrating?
Sorry for all the rambling

I think what you're referring to is a TORX bit. You can buy those at any hardware/tool store.
Have you always had engine noise? I would verify you have a good, solid ground connection for your amplifier. Try unplugging the RCA cables from your amplifier, if its still there its probably just a bad ground. If it goes away, reconnect the RCA cables... then disconnect the RCA cables at your head unit... if the engine noise goes away, its in your RCA cables. At that point you can try running them in a different location.. away from any power wires OR if they are not of good quality go get some good Shielded, Twisted Pair RCA Cables.

It is definitely a Torx bit - if I remember correctly, it is like a T-65 (size). You should be able to get it at a home improvement store where they sell sockets - Home Depot did not have that size, so I ended up getting mine at Advance Auto.
As for the engine noise I think that it is coming from just out the hole in the firewall. I need to try and put some rubber surround in with only a 4 ga. hole for the power wire to run through, i think that I zip tied the power wire to something that rattles like crazy up there and that is the noise I am getting.
Thanks for the info on the bit too.
