Speaker Advice

Car audio novice looking for advice. Going to get a new HU for my '00 XLT since my factory unit's CD player recently died. I figure as long as I'm replacing the HU I might as well replace the factory speakers to uprade my sound quality as well.
What do you guys think about only replacing the 2 front door speakers? Would this sound good or should I replace all 4?
Also what speakers would you recommend? I'm thinking of getting the Pioneer DEH-P3500 head unit. Looking for good sound but I don't have to rattle my rearview off or anything.
Thanks for any info!

If you're into storing your music collection in MP3 format.. I'd suggest jumping from the 3500 to the 4500MP head unit. That way you have MP3 functionality in your head unit. The rest of the features are all the same I believe, although, the display on the 3500 looks much better than that of the 4500MP, IMHO.

If you have anything less than a supercrew.. don't replace the back speakers.. its not really worth it unless you desire more sound coming from behind you. (the sound from the speakers should sound like its in front of you for better sound quality)

Just my 2 cents.

Echoing Tek's reply, get an MP3 player if you would like to put an incredible amount of music on one CD. Even if you don't burn MP3's now get it for future use.
I wouldn't bother with the rear speakers either, spend that money elsewhere. As far as the brand goes, that's like asking which is the best color. Go listen to a bunch of speakers with music that YOU listen to. Even better is find some fellow Ford brothers and listen to their systems with your music and make your choice that way.

Thanks for the suggestions! I own an extended cab (not Screw) so I guess only 2 new speakers would be fine. I was considering an MP3 player but everything else I own (walkman, home stereo, etc.) only plays CD's so that's what I usually use...or, I guess I could use this as an excuse to revamp my entire home audio collection
Like TEK said, I like the look of the 3500 a lot more than the 4500 and I think appearance counts for something.
On a different note...has anybody delt with etronics.com for audio equipment? Their prices seem a lot lower than BestBuy, Crutchfield's, etc. Is there a catch I'm not getting?

Etronics.com is a reputable company...but check www.ikesound.com and www.thezeb.com also. I would recommend getting a HU with a built-in crossover. It is a wonderful feature.
