Factory cd problem?

Has anyone heard of a problem with factory am-fm/CD players not playing when they get hot?

I have a CD player in my 93 t-bird that will get hot occasionally and no sound will come out of the radio at all. I have to let it cool for a few minutes, then turn it back on, and it works fine.

Yes, this is a common problem. The dealer will replace the radio with a modified radio that has a small cooling fan built into it to keep the CD player cool. See your local dealer

My 2003 supercrew has one of the radios with the fan. After about 3 months the fan has started to make a buzzing noise.

I have an appointment to get it fixed Saturday.

I wonder what is worse the problem or the soulition?
