Help! Speaker wiring problem

I am trying to install an amp and I have searched the world for speaker color codes and none of the ones I have found match my wires. The closest one I found is this http://www.carstereoproducts.com/wir...expedition.htm All the wires match mine accept for the RR-. I do not have a brown/pink wire at all. This is for a 2003 Super Crew without the premium sound. Where can I get the proper diagram?

Try this link see if it matches your colors.

Are you just cutting into the factory harness?

Yes, I am cutting into the factory harness. The color code in that link does not match. They must have changed it for 2003. I cannot find it anywhere on the web. I may have to buy a manual.

Have you already cut the factory wires? If you wanted to keep from cutting the factory wires.. I can get you links to wiring harnesses that will tell you EXACTLY what wires are what and you wont have to cut into the factory wires.. it'll cost ya about $20 though.

most any auto stereo shop will carry them. and i guess prices change state to state but i have never paid even close to 20 bucks for wire harnesses. even Walmart carrys most ford harnesses for only 12 bucks. call your local shops i'm sure you wont have to look very hard to get some and it will make your install way easier. and will make it easy to put back your factory radio when and if you sell you truck. make sure you keep the factory unit

The reason its going to cost the $20 is cuz he needs 2 harnesses.

If you've still got the factory stereo, you'll need a harness to plug into the wiring harness and then another harness to plug into the back of the factory stereo.

Here's the harness that will plug into the truck's wiring harness:
Into Car Harness $9.95 at Parts Express

Here's the harness that will plug into the factory stereo:
Into OEM Stereo Harness $12.25 at Parts Express

Now, the into OEM STereo harness WILL NOT be carried by most audio shops as a stock item.. but I'm sure they could order it for you or you could just order from Parts Express.

Remember to look at the picture of the 2 harnesses and make sure they'll match the plugs you see in the dash wiring and the back of the stereo. They don't have a specific 2003 F-150 harness listed.. the links I provided are for 99-2002 F-150 harnesses. (I figure the 2003 harness is the same but I'm not for sure on that)

Once you've got the harnesses.. all you've gotta do is pick whichever speaker wires you need to use and connect them to whatever you need.

The package of the wiring harness will have a wire color designation list.. it'll tell which color wire has what function.

And once you're ready to go back to factory setup.. just unplug your 2 harnesses and plug the original factory harness directly into the factory stereo and no cut wires to deal with.

So you decided to just cut the speaker wires at the factory harness?

Good luck.
