Now that I have an MP3 player practically my entire CD collection. Rush, Megadeth, Aerosmith,Soundgarden to James Taylor,Tori Amos,Fleetwood Mac, as well as the classical stuff. To much variations to list. However there is never any country.

Yes, yes I know I could do a search, but anybody here got the Kenwood Music Keg or something similar. I've been thinking about it lately, and would just like to know if anyone likes it...

I've been thinking about getting the Keg too. Selling for $380 on EBAY (incl. shipping). do search for KHD-C710

What head unit are you gonna control it with? Or are you opting to go with the FM Modulator interface?

From the research I've done.. the Keg is a good deal. If you go with one of the Sony in dash hard drives you get no PC interface. The Keg has about a 15 second load time (or less). Its the size of a small cd changer and can be mounted in any position.. including upside down. Umm what else.. that's all I can think of right now.

I've got a Kenwood KDC-X859 (there's pix of it in my gallery), and I want to be able to control everything with it. I recently added Kenwood's Sirius reciever, so I wouldn't have to have an FM modulator, and I absolutely love it.

So, can you create folders on it and/or dump on it just like a CD? I want to be able to seperate the different styles of music... I've done that now with CD's and MP3's, but I still have to have more than one CD for any particular genre...

I'll do some searching on it now...

thanks...

I also have the KDC-X859.

OH yeah.. one MAJOR thing I forgot to point out. You can download the software you'd use to interface the Keg cartridge with your PC. I've been using it for about a month now and its the simplest MP3 organizer I've dealt with. Not too memory intensive and VERY EASY to use.. lots of good features. Like the Search function.. if you've got a lot of MP3's you just type in the search box and viola what you're looking for pops up without having to scroll through lists and lists of artists and songs.

BUT the coolest feature by far.. DYNAMIC PLAYLISTS.
A dynamic playlist is a playlist that automatically adds a song that fits the playlist criteria once it is added to your MP3 library. All ya gotta do is ID3 tag it like you want it.. and if that song fits into one of your playlists (say a playlist of the Country genre) it will automatically be added to that playlist once ID3 tagged. So no going through adding every song you download to each playlist you want it in.

PhatNoise Jukebox
Get the software there. ITS FREE

Kenwood's KEG Website

Can you sort the songs into whatever form you want them in?YES.. 999 playlists with 999 songs on each playlist. I'd say that will surpass anything we could ever need as far as sorting.

Sorry I know I sound like an advertisement.. but I've been reading about all kinds of in car MP3 storage devices including in car PC.. and this is the easiest and quite possibly BEST way to go.
