I am getting a humming noise in the front dash area of my 2000 F150 Lariat 4x4. The radio does not have to be on to get this noise. Any suggestions?

 

A buddy of mine with a SuperDuty had this same problem and it ended up being a speaker that the ground wire was slightly disconnected from the passenger door speaker. Hard to say but it's worth a shot.
