Integrating cell phone to Stock HU
Integrating cell phone to Stock HU
Does anyone know if they have a terminal on the In-dash CD6 to which you can connect a cell phone car kit in order to mute the radio during a phone call. It seems logical that it would have one since they have a mute button on the front of the radio.
If someone knows, please tell me where to connect the wire and if it operates on ground or +12VDC.
Thanks in advance!

Actually, there is an input wire on the factory stereo for cell phones. It is pin# 10 on J3. Please see the diagram at http://carstereohelp.net/wireharness_Ford1.htm for more information.
Now that you know the connector for the radio, how will you use it? Is there a kit that can be used with a cell phone to take advantage of this feature?
I just checked the factory HU in my truck against this chart. There are no wires in the factory wiring harness connected to pins 8-13 on J3. This includes both the speed and phone inputs. I am dissapointed with the lack of speed input. My previous SCrew had the speed input and it was an EXCELLENT feature. This HU has the feature (hold down the volume control for about 5 seconds to adjust), but with no speed input, it is useless. Does anyone know what to connect the wire to? Is there a kit for such?

I found this harness. I haven't found an installer that can get it yet. I am about to put a Nokia CARK-91 in for a new 6360 phone.

This company: http://www.pcimktg.com/commerce/catalog_download.asp has the car kit for $85 and the harness for $25. Just need to find an installer to buy it from them.
