Question Radio fit

I have a 97 F150. It had a AM/FM cass in it and I put a AM/FM Cass/CD from an Explorer in it. It does not fit flush due to the back of the radio compartment. Can I cut that away for a better fit? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Yes it will fit. Don't be afraid to hack away at some of that excess plastic inside the dash opening. Don't cut away the area that the stock radio bracket bolts to and you should be able to put everthing back to stock when you get rid of your truck. I used a hack saw blade out of the holder, but I'm sure there are more appropriate saws to get back up in there.

You should be able to fabricate some sort of bracket for the new radio, it's not to hard to do. I "modified" the existing stock bracket.

Just take your time and good luck.
