what do you guys think about this
what do you guys think about this
i was at my local shop talking to the fellas and we were brainstorming on where to put screens in my s-crew. one of the guys brought to my attention that he could put a screen in my steering wheel, i thought this was bad a$% and am serously considering doing this along with a few more in the headrests and stuff. just wanted to get some feedback and see what you guys thought.
TV + steering wheel = distracting = crash = Bad
If you want it just for show, car shows ad such and have it off without driving, it would be cool. However it woujld be tempting to watch some porno, errr, i mean the morning news on the way to work....
The Whistles go Wooooooooooo Woooooooooooooo!

Mount it on a bracket out on your hood... that way, you could have a remote controlled arm and spin it around to let your fellow drivers watch TV with you during the morning commute...
Don't forget the details here though....
1. You're going to need a weather-proof LCD. Pricey.
2. You're going to die in a firey car crash while watching TV across your hood...
3... okay, I'm out of smarta$$ comments...
seriously... like pgh said, don't forget about the air bag. It's a pretty important piece of equipment. Also, the distraction of looking down all the time to check out your favorite hot gal meteorologist in the morning would be difficult while driving...
Just a friendly thought from the good people at Michelin. Because so much is riding on your tires.

Where in Louisinan you at?
Also I wouldnt put it in the steering wheel too much of a hazard. I mean if you ever get in a wreck you'll wish you hadn't taken the airbag out. Also there is a thin line between tasteful and tacky when putting TVs in the truck. I mean if you really think about it whats the point of having 5 TVs in a truck? If its for show and you just want to show of your money then **** just staple a few hundred dollar bills to the seats and I'd be more impressed
. But if you have to the TVs at absolute most I would do in a super crew would be 3 but personaly I wouldnt do more than 1 or 2. If I were to do 3 I would do one flush in the dash where the radio is and move the radio to where the ac controls are and move the ac controls somewhere else maybe in the pocket under the steering wheel or maybe just do and indash monitor that stucks out. So that covers the passangers in the front and then if you just wanna do some TVs in the back I'd do them in the head rest. But if you only need 2 tvs or something I would do them in the visor simply bc I wouldnt want them to be real flashy and no one would know they were there unless I was watching it or maybe just 1 in the dash. But Im assuming your trying to be flashy
?

I do hope you're smart enough not to fool with the airbag.
1 airbag = $600. So if that guy removes the airbag and uses the external portion of the airbag assembly (the part you see when looking at your steering wheel.. yes the whole center part of your steering wheel is the airbag and comes as 1 piece) to hold the screen then you've just bought yourself a $600 airbag when you get ready to sell the truck. PLUS you'll have to find a mechanic to put it back in for you... you wouldn't want your $600 airbag to blow up in your face because you didn't know what you were doing when you tried to do it yourself now would you?
AND that's just 1 of the MANY cons to the idea of putting a screen in the steering wheel.
BUT... if you've got more money than common sense... by all means have at it.
