6-disc player, dealer called me
tfleming...assume you're talking to me? I am VERY interested, but I have a few questions, first, if you don't mind.
1. You decided NOT to take it? Why not, it's a good deal.
2. How many miles on the vehicle it was removed from? Would prefer a new "take-out" of course.
3. Can you get the part # off it? My understanding is the #1C3F-18C815-AB will work in the Lightning and also control the remote CD changer, too (which is what I'm shooting for).
Drop me a line at jjaymz@hotmail.com and let's talk.
...or did I misunderstand your reply here?

It came out of a 2003 supercrew.
I decided not to get it because I would have to cut out some of the interior plastic frame that the old cd player slides into. Im not sure If I want to do that. The dealer said all I have to do is remove the metal bracket in the back and it will go in fine but I think hes wrong. Its hard to explain. In the hole the cd player goes into there is a plastic frame that slopes down. The 6 disc is fatter than the single and it scrapes the top of that plastic. I think I would have to trim that plastic inside.
As for the part number I can get that for you monday when we go get it. I decided I want mp3 capability. But since it was a good deal I will get it and see if anyone on here wants it.
My understanding is it came out new, with very little use. The guy just put 1250 dollars worth of new stereo stuff in his truck.

Thanks for the reply.
I am aware of the bracket mod that needs to be done for a proper fit: no problem for me.
If you can verify part #...and/or, if you have a digital camera...take a pic of the back connection busses, I will definitely take it!!!!!! So, keep in touch and I hope we can do the deal soon! I will, of course pay shipping. Not sure how you want to do the transaction...I have a PayPal acct, but whatever works!

Great! Keep me posted!
One other thing: check to see where the 2 pairs of "removal holes" are. The ones that at least have a chance of working are in the ends of the player face; the ones that won't work have the holes in the top and bottom of the face. I'm pretty sure all the ones from the trucks are in the ends; Mustangs, etc., are in top and bottom.
My wife just bought a new Cougar last week and has one of these 6-CD changers in it and it looks like it might work. Do you suppose she's miss it if I took it and put in the cassette unit from the Lightning?
