specs

Hi,

Does anyone know of a web page with specdifications on the stock audio components that come in ford trucks like power output, impedence speaker types and sizes and blah blah blah?

I am thinking about just keeping my dash unit and upgrading my speakers and knowing the specs would help a lot in the selection process

Thanks!

I believe Clarion makes the majority of the components but, I'm not sure...

G'luck.

The specs for the stock stuff is that they suck. Upgrading the speakers will help but the stock head unit has no power at all so you will be much better off if you upgrade that as well. The stock speakers are 4 ohms like most car audio stuff, as far as the output of the radio its not much at all.

^^^ my guess would be the stock HU puts out around 7-10 watts per channel.

Upgrading the stock speakers will help out. They will be a little better sounding. Although they wont be much louder unless you find more efficient speakers. My guess is that the stock CD player put out about 25 wrms.

So if you looking for something to just sound a little better. Then changing the speakers may just be fine for you. But if you looking for it to get louder then adding an amp may be what you need. So you could keep the stock stereo and just add an amp and speakers and that would probably give you what you want.

What type of speakers are you looking at?
