Acetoned my emblems today
They look incredible. I've seen pictures...but I think they look extra nice on a dark grey truck. I'm very pleased. It was pretty easy...just time consuming. It took about 2-3 hours to do both badges, and the tailgate badge. I acetoned over the XLT sticker and also the Triton V8. The Triton V8 was the biggest bitch...until I realized that if I just squeezed the acetone in the little crevices with a cotton ball it would get the black paint out. At first I was trying to get it out with a Q-tip and it took forever.
Also, I masking taped from the badge down...but I did get some acetone on my truck. I washed both fenders 3 times...and there's very little 'scufs' left from the acetone. Have any of you who've acetoned your badges gotten this? And what's the best way to remove it?
Oh yeh...I'll put pictures up later today.

Hey guys - FYI, Goof Off takes all the black off also and is not quite as harsh as acetone. Did two Supercrew tailgate emblems and installed on my fenders - worked great!! Now just need to do the tailgate emblem to match.
One other thing - I found a soft-bristled toothbrush really helped to get all of the black off, especially around the smaller letters. Sprayed the bristles with Goof Off and lightly scrubbed between the letters.
