I personally think it is cheating. You try to hide it, just like your mistress. It takes no skill at all to make your vehicle go fast with nitrous. Whyy not put 1,000 + hours in your car liek the people at the dragstrip running 9 second second quartermiles without nitrous.

Make a sleeper car or somthing. You'll get better satisfactionfrom it. I saw a man sat get laughed at at the dragstrip, in his FORD FIESTA! They were laughing about his hood scoop he had welded on himself, which looked liek ****.

He then proceeded to stomp every car there(with a close to 8 sec 1/4mile) except a chevelle, 93 stang, and the guys from the NHRA.

Guess who had the last laugh....

I have nitrous on my 98 4.6l 5 speed. Cheating, YES. Winning almost every race I get in, YES. The look on peoples faces when they get smoked by a truck is priceless. It is more fun the you can imagine.

With nitrous if you don't get to greedy then you will be alright. It is accepted that you do not exceed 100 shot on these motors, unless you want to blow up. Nitrous Express makes an excellent kit. In case you didn't know it is a wet kit and for about $500 you can get started. It doesn't include many items that are a must. Mainly a fuel pressure safety switch, filter and a pressure gauge to monitor bottle pressure. About another $150 or so. You can also opt for a bottle heater and purge valve if you want. I personally have not yet, but will shortly get. Some people also opt for an inline fuel pump to suppliment the factory one but as long as you have the safety switch you will be fine.

I also have a flip chip, one side programmed for normal driving while the other is programmed for nitrous and retards the timing. Another thing is you need to changed the spark plugs. Do not use platinum plugs. The thought behind this is if you do run too lean the platinum plugs will continue to fire burning a hole thru the top on the piston. Non platinum plugs will foul and you will shut down anyway. I am running NGK tr6's.

I am sure that I am forgetting something. Hope that helps.
