I've heard great things about them and am considering one. There was a big debate on them over in the engine forum just here recently. Prices I have seen are $389 from Summit and $393 from Jegs.
I have been told that Derale makes a dual fan setup but I have yet to actually see it.

KYFordfreak,

I have the flex-a-lite dual fan set up. Works great. The installer had to have a custom bracket made to mount it. My truck never gets above 175 degrees in FL with the AC on all the time and in traffic.

Custom bracket? I thought this was pretty much a bolt on unit? Glad it's working good for you. My fan clutch is a tad on the bad side so as I see the dual fan as a way to get rid of that and add a little something extra.

My installer said it would not fit, the radiator was too wide. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know how accurate this is. Good luck.

Oh, OK I see. Well unless I hear more of the same problem it's not a big concern. As you can tell I am from hills of Kentucky and have a certified degree in shadetree fabrication and can deal with a few minor fitment issues. If I can make that stupid Steelhorse billet grill to fit and not whistle, I can handle the fans... I think.

Talking

I just got an e-mail for Flex-a-lite asking me about the problem with the mounting brackets. What service! I can't honestly say the brackets don't fit. My installer said that but I don't know how hard he tried or what. I would highly recommend any company that would monitor these posts and cntact members about their products.

You mean they contacted you... that's unheard these days. I mean for a company that doesn't already have your money. Up until then they're your best friend.
If they contacted you with no intervention then that is great service.

Over on the Lightning forum there is a discussion on this. There is also Ford part #'s and prices. Much cheaper than flex-a-lite.http://198.65.157.241/forums/showthr...5&pagenumber=1

thanks fastrnu,
I skimmed through that thread, trying to avoid the fight going on. It seems that things are much calmer over here in these forums. Thanks again.
